Trenching for Beans

Yes – there has been some positive action in the garden! I have dug the trench under the runner/climbing french bean row and filled it wwith 2 barrows full of comporst. I needed to do it as the compost bin was full…

Meanwhile winter has vanished as quickly as it came and has been replaced with temperatures of up to 11degC – quite amazing. I don’t suppose it will stay that way though.

Also, I had a bonfire close to where the beans tranch the other day and finnally got rid of the remains of the Lilac tree that fell last year – ny son helped of course, nothing like a bonfire to tempt young boys out into the garden.

Now I need to get some broad beans started off and dig over the patch where the beans are to go – maybe in the next few dasy….
